Orica Renewable Hydrogen

2D animation / 3D Animation

Kooragang Island renewable hydrogen project

Orica is aiming to deliver a commercial scale renewable hydrogen supply chain in the Newcastle. The Hub will deliver a safe and reliable, commercial scale renewable hydrogen supply chain to the Hunter region, while bringing their vision of low carbon ammonia to life.

Outcomes
together

Enabled clear communication of Orica’s Hunter Valley Hydrogen Hub project, paving the way for key partnerships with government and leading companies.
$432 million in conditional funding from ARENA, Orica is taking a major step toward a more sustainable, low-emissions future.

Solving with
purpose

Having partnered with Orica for nearly a decade, we were engaged to develop a 2D and 3D animation that brought their vision for the Hunter Valley Hydrogen Hub to life. Designed as a clear, engaging communication tool, the animation was created to inform government, investors, and stakeholders about how renewable hydrogen will be produced and the broader benefits it brings to Australia. A central feature of the animation was the “renewable molecule” — a guiding visual element used to highlight key stages and data points throughout the video. This approach allowed us to present complex information in a way that was easy to follow, visually consistent, and highly engaging.

The animation clearly demonstrated how the Hub will contribute to decarbonising industry emissions and supporting Australia’s transition to net zero. The result was a compelling and credible narrative that played a key role in securing significant government support, including $432 million in conditional funding from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA).

Developed in partnership with KWCS Collaborative.
